BDO Law represented Latvian CHPP Producers' Association in European Court of Human Rights

The CHPP (Combined Heat and Power Plant) Association of Latvia is a union of owners of combined heat and power plants with foreign and Latvian capital. On behalf of the clients the Law firm has lodged with the constitution court the claim to cancel the subsidized energy tax applicable to producers of electricity and the constitutional litigation has been commenced.

BDO Law represented the CHPP Association of Latvia and 26 companies representing the whole cogeneration industry in many consecutive hearings at the constitutional court. In addition BDO Law represents CHPP Association of Latvia and its members in European Court of Human Rights asking to initiate the case against Republic of Latvia in relation to unfair law requirements in the renewable energy industry.
