Vita Liberte is an attorney with a perfect knowledge of tax planning at local and international levels.
Vita’s professional experience has involved solving labour disputes, consulting the drafting of contracts and other documents regulating labour law, representing client’s interests in the courts of first instance, courts of appeal and cassation, and state and municipal institutions. Within the field of labour disputes, Vita has represented client’s interests at the European Court of Justice. Vita headed the working group which prepared the publication Labour Law with Commentaries published in co-operation with the Latvian Association of Free Trade Unions.
Vita regularly participates as a speaker at local and international conferences, reporting on current legislative issues. Her professional interests also include private and public partnership and she is the founder of the Latvian Public and Private Partnership Association (PPPA). Together with the Latvian Investment and Development Agency, she has organised and moderated conferences and seminars and delivered academic lectures on the application of legal standards and current legislation.
Prior to the foundation of BDO Zelmenis&Liberte, she worked at the New York office of PricewaterhouseCoopers. After three years of relentless work, which provided her with invaluable legal experience, she continued her career in Latvia as head of the Deloitte Latvia Tax and Legal Department.
She holds a master’s degree in International law from the prestigious New York University, and she has not cut her ties with the United States – she is still an active member of the American Bar Association.
